A/N: Double drabble.
A gusty wind was blowing. It wasn’t a gale, not even close; it was warm, buffeting Ryo just enough to make him sway a little, ruffling his hair, tugging gently at his clothes, but strong winds had always made him feel energised and alive. This one was no exception.
Being where he was, at the top of a long, smooth, grassy slope, miles from civilisation, without another person in sight aside from his lover, there was no reason for Ryo to resist temptation.
He stood up straighter, breathing deeply of the warm air redolent with the scents of grass, wildflowers, and nature, then flashed a grin at Dee.
“Race you to the bottom!”
“What?” Dee’s attention had been wandering; he hadn’t really been thinking at all, just relishing the warm sunshine and the peacefulness, no sounds beyond birdsong, buzzing bees, and the shush of the wind.
Ryo didn’t reply, just took off down the slope at a flat-out run, his laughter drifting faintly back to Dee. What could Dee do but follow? Not that he stood any chance of catching his lover; Ryo had too much of a head start.
It didn’t matter. Running had never felt more like flying.
