A/N: Quadruple drabble.
Ryo wondered whether he should get Diana a gift, maybe flowers or chocolates, something to thank her for talking some sense into him. If she hadn’t laid everything out for him the way she had, he might never have gotten up the courage to take the plunge, say yes to Dee’s advances instead of pushing him away.
Truth was, he’d spent months trying to imagine what it would be like to give in to his desires, accept more from Dee than kisses. Ever since the night of the Test Drive, which hadn’t gotten very far due to unforeseen circumstances, he hadn’t been able to stop thinking about the way it had felt to have Dee touching him. If he hadn’t been such a coward, he might have suggested giving it another try. He’d half wanted to, but…
Well, chances were, if Diana hadn’t intervened, he would have just kept putting things off until Dee finally got tired of waiting and turned to someone else. Where would that have left him?
Ryo shuddered at the thought. As much as he’d tried to pretend that he saw Dee as nothing more than his partner and friend, what he felt went far deeper than that. Dee had become a part of him, and the last thing he wanted was to lose whatever it was they’d developed over the past couple of years.
So yes, he definitely owed Diana, but if he gave her a thank you gift she’d know he’d slept with Dee, and that would be all kinds of awkward, especially since he was still processing their first time. Plus, Dee would want to know why Ryo was buying her gifts. He might get the wrong idea, might think Ryo was courting her.
Taking the plunge with Dee had definitely been the right thing to do; last night had been a revelation. He’d never imagined Dee could be so gentle, so caring. He’d half expected his partner would have thrown him down caveman style, but he hadn’t. Instead he’d taken things slow and easy, never demanding, giving Ryo almost more pleasure than he could handle. His skin still felt sensitised, and although he felt a little uncomfortable in places, he knew he wanted more. Just not right away.
Maybe he could send Diana flowers and a thank you note once this bodyguard gig was over. That way Dee wouldn’t have to know.
