A/N: Double drabble.
Jack was up to something; Ianto didn’t need to be psychic to know that. All he needed was his natural perceptiveness and several years’ experience in all things Jack-related. He’d studied the man extensively since joining Torchwood Three, and by now was probably the universe’s foremost authority on him.
Being Jack’s lover had no doubt helped Ianto winkle out facts no one else would have had the opportunity to discover about the immortal Captain. Even so, anyone who knew anything at all about the man calling himself Jack Harkness must surely have noticed he was being particularly sneaky. In fact, Ianto would go so far as to say his behaviour was downright furtive.
That did not bode well. A furtive Jack could not be up to anything good, because if he was, there’d be no reason for him to be sneaking around in the first place. Well, if Jack could be sneaky then so could Ianto. He knew his way around the Hub better than anyone; whatever Jack was hiding from him, Ianto would find it.
Of course, when he did, he knew he could never tell Jack. How could he spoil the birthday surprise Jack was organising for him?
