A/N: Triple drabble.
The expansion project at Dee’s apartment was going well, especially considering that he and Ryo were doing most of the work themselves. A few of Dee’s friends from when he’d worked construction had helped out with the major structural stuff, but Dee could turn his hand to most things, and even though Ryo wasn’t great at DIY, he could still wield a paintbrush. Besides, he was learning a lot.
He arrived at Dee’s place mid-morning, ready to help out in any way could, but there was no sign of his partner.
“Dee?”
“In here!”
Following the sound of Dee’s voice, Ryo tracked him to the bathroom, where he found his lover lying on his side halfway under the sink unit, with one arm behind the new bathtub, one leg braced against the wall, and the other foot somewhere beneath the bath.
“What on earth are you doing? You look like a game of twister gone wrong.”
Dee tried to turn his head to look at his lover, but his awkward position made it impossible.
“It’s taken me fifteen minutes to get far enough in to connect the pipes to the taps, and now I can’t get the frickin’ wrench! Must’ve knocked it out of reach while I was bein’ a contortionist. I just managed to get everything lined up right; if I let go I’ll have to start all over again, so I was tryin’ to hook the wrench with my foot…” Dee trailed off, frustrated. “I nearly had it once, but it slid under the tub, so I had to kick my shoe off and get my foot under there, but I can’t find the damn thing ‘cause I can’t see where it is!”
Ryo snickered. “Want me to get it and pass it to you?”
“What d’you think?”
