From this distance, earth is hardly more than a tiny mote of dust against the black, star-spangled backdrop of space. Looking at it, Martha has never felt smaller or less significant.
That’s her world, the place her parents and countless generations of her ancestors were born, lived their lives, and died, but here she is, an unimaginable distance away from all that’s familiar, and a lot that isn’t, further than anyone she knows has ever gone.
She’s not the first to travel with the Doctor, and she won’t be the last, but she’s the one here, now, and it’s fantastic!
