Summary: Owen is full of scientific curiosity over Torchwood’s new pet.

A/N: Double drabble.
Owen watched Nosy with curiosity as it slithered about the Hub, cautiously exploring its new environment.
Eventually he turned to Ianto, frowning. “How does it move?”
“You’re the scientist around here; aren’t you supposed to know stuff like that?”
“Oi, medical doctor, not zoologist! Besides, it’s an alien.”
“You don’t say.” Ianto rolled his eyes.
“Fuck off. I just meant alien creatures don’t necessarily move the same way a similar earth species would. Snakes, for instance; they usually…” Owen trailed off, unable to think of the right word, demonstrating a zigzag movement with his hand. “But Nosy goes in a straight line so how does it propel itself forwards?”
Ianto thought that over. “It slithers, or possibly slinks,” he decided.
“Oh, you’re a big help!”
“If you want to know things about Nosy, go to the source.” Ianto gestured in the Fluff’s general direction.
“It can’t speak.”
“I know that, but you’ve got eyes, and hands, and presumably a brain, if you ever bothered to use it, not to mention alien scanners for scanning aliens. I’m sure you can figure it out if you try.”
“Maybe I could do some research.”
“That’s the spirit.”
“Wonder if it can go backwards…”
