I've been reading some of the older Star Trek novels recently, and I came across these gems.

"?" he said with his eyebrows.
I'm not even sure how that works.

The captain grinned slyly at his medical officer. "You are fond of our Vulcan iceberg, aren't you, Bones?"

Mostly it's the fact that the Vulcan iceberg is, well... Vulcan. And Vulcan is always first and foremost in my mind associated with forges and metalwork and blacksmithing. Oh hai Hephaestus.

I tend to read everything in a DeForest Kelly voice. Unless I'm reading Star Trek, and then everyone sounds like William Shatner, even the narration.

I find that most popular music is more entertaining if you read the lyrics in the William Shatner voice, but I don't promise you'll listen to popular music anymore once you start with that.
