[Even though by now several people had told Kanda the ship was likely going to sink, now that it was actually happening it was still a surprise. He generally didn't like boats, and being in one huge as this almost felt as if a continent was sinking. Unpleasant ( Read more... )

[The last thing that had been on Allen's mind was the fact that he really should have gotten something to help him for when the ship was completely under. Instead he had been trying to get the people off the ship, which he was still trying to do. Stopping for the moment he looked over, the ship had started to sink faster, he was sure of it.]

Hurry up, come on, this way.

[He followed the group of people, making sure that kids stayed with their families and so on. Once he felt like they were safe he started to run back, innocence activated once again as he used the cowl to grab onto the side as he realised there wasn't much left he could do. Looking over he was sure he spotted someone he knew...with some sort of duck... thing. Making sure to focus as best as he could he realised who it was and not even trying to hold back the laughter and just let it all out.]

[Meanwhile Kanda had settled himself on the ship's safety fence so he could properly react if the ship started turning vertical, completely ignorant of all the rushing and chaos - it was starting to die down by now, though.]

[And then he hears someone laughing and it sounds like Beansprout, and when he looks around he spots the brat looking right at him.]

[Cue bitter look.]

[Because Kanda genuinely sees nothing funny about it. Therefore he assumes Walker must have gone mad out of stress or fear or whatever it is, and the laughter is just a hysterical outburst of it.]

So you finally lost it.

No, I have not lost it. I'm just laughing at your duck thing. You really know how to sink with style.

[He chuckles slightly, keeping a rather firm grip on the fence, or at least his cowl does that for him.]

I'm surprised they didn't put you on a boat, after all your hair can mistake you for a woman.

...It doesn't sink, idiot.

[Well, of course it might for a short while, with the ship pull and everything, but it's definite to float right back up. All thanks to ducky.]

[...you did not just go there. Cue twitching and growling.]

Want to die?!

[Smirking slightly, Allen points to his hair.]

Fine then, if you don't want to be called a woman then why don't you cut your hair. I'll be happy to do it for you.

[Yep he can feel the ship sink slightly, so he's just going to get a grip of the fence, just to be extra careful. He looked around to check there was no one else to help.]

As for the duck, what exactly is it?

[Staring at Walker like an old lady stares at a young Goth offering to eat a baby. What the hell -- it's very nice hair, okay. All of the Order is crazy about it. He'd be mad to cut it, not to mention it feels good on his head. Go to hell, brat.]

[He's not even sure how to respond to that, and goes with the lowest he can manage.]

Save that offer for your dear master.

[That's right, Cross has long hair and nobody mistakes him for a damned woman. Just you wait another few years, Kanda's gonna grow a motherfucking beard sooner or later and then he'll show you all. ...it has to grow eventually, right. not like the scientists forgot to install it or anything. right?]

[Cocking an eyebrow with displeasement.]

It's just what it looks like, dammit. A duck.

[That was below the belt...below the belt. Allen looks like he could be sea sick at any given moment.]

Why did you bring him up?

[His face isn't changing any time soon, the memories man...the memories are all coming back and he wished they wouldn't. Try and move the subject to the weird duck thing.]

I know it's a duck, that was not what I meant idiot, I meant what exactly is it...it looks like some odd ring thing.

[Hah. That's 1:0. Since when do you support fair fights, anyway? And that's not even cheating. Merely using the opponents' weakness.]

[Shrugs a bit.]

He has nice hair.

[Too.]

[He ignores the suffering expression that accompanies the line of excuses and general insignificance following.]

...people use it to float on water.

[He'll have his moment Kanda, just you wait. He will find something.

But for now, he still lets out a light chuckle, he really can't take the duck seriously.]

Ohhhhh, so you are using it to float when the ship sinks. I just thought it was some weird thing you like to do.

[Sure. Good luck with that.]

[The duck looks perfectly serious. It's hard to understand you, Beansprout.]

...I don't do weird things.

[Depends on what you define as weird, really. But what Kanda deems as such is behavior that differs from his own.]
