[B hadn't managed to catch the beginning of L's downfall, but the noise had caught his attention. The sight before him is more than he could have ever hoped for. His eyes narrow excitedly, and instinctively a thumb is brought to his lower lip. The slouch is exaggerated even further, though he can't quite manage deadpan; the prospect of speaking to his predecessor makes neutrality more difficult to achieve than usual. Nonetheless, he shuffles closer towards the fallen man, and manages to erase the last traces of a serpent's grin from his lips before speaking. He has so many questions he wants answered that he doesn't quite know where to begin.]
Do you know who I am?
[He's all but shaking from excitement, though he's careful not to betray this. There's no way he's letting L know just how much he had longed for this moment.]
[In person] omg you did such a good job describing that! I squee'd.thumbonmylipMay 4 2011, 20:36:16 UTC
[[L winced as he pulled at his legs with his hand, then tried the other one. For the time being it was no use. He sighed tried to pull his communicator out so that Light could give him the cold shoulder, pretend not to care and or get mad at him and leave him to starve to death. ..All except his communicator is just slightly out of reach.
He noticed a small shuffling down the hall and turned his head and his body the best he could twist it to meet the source of the sound. His eyes widened as he thought for sure something was playing a trick on him, surely at this very moment he couldn't have been in the same -- Thanks Author, really. He'll repay this favour some how. Body twisted to be able to view the side that Beyond shuffled to, L remained passive and collected while staring into the face of his almost doppelganger.
For a moment, L's mind worked on a little bit of irony, sighing inwardly at the pun The Author was making him the topic of, 'Really funny, you sent "Backup", I get it.']]
[In person] \o/ JUST AS- Awww dang, wrong musebeyondsightedMay 13 2011, 04:35:23 UTC
[The moment just continues to get sweeter and sweeter. L is pinned, and unable to call for help; B might even have to brush his teeth twice tonight! Truly, B could not possibly have asked for more ideal conditions. He could sit by Lawliet and talk all day if the fancy so struck him. Perhaps he'd let L go free when the circulation to his poor feet cut off, but that wouldn't be for a while yet. Therefore B does what occurs to him as the most natural course of action--ignore the fact that L is clearly in need of help. He adopts a half crouched pose by the other man's head and leans in closely, roving his eyes over his face committing every last pore to memory. He would duplicate this face perfectly one day.]

[[The twist of L's body wouldn't be comfortable for most people, but his style of self-defense taught fluidity... But no even he could hold this position forever and instantly regretted turning like this to view the person. If he moved, B would realize that he's entirely at his mercy at this point save for what he could do with hands, teeth, nails, his head if he had to. He stayed perfectly still even as B loomed over top of him, and the way his face was raked over like material better committed to memory was much too close and much too intimate for what he cared of Beyond to be with him.
L turned his head to the side at least, looking defiantly downward on the floor rather than having to submit to looking up to B.]]
Do you want my honest opinion? [[Of course he would, Beyond would have demanded nothing the less.]]
You're a homicidal sociopath throwing a tantrum about your placement in this world.
[Aaaaah, sincere apologies--or should those be insincere apologies?--L, but B has no consideration whatsoever for your not-so-subtle attempts at indicating your discomfort. He's learned from the best when it comes to invading other people's personal space, and no, despite the fact that you are who you are, you are no exception. The thumb comes to rest on B's lower lip, the crouch threatens to become a full on crawl, though he remains bipedal for the time being.
It's almost shocking to hear L speak so frankly, or to hear L speak at all--to be quite honest with himself, B still hasn't gotten over his giddy excitement of just being in L's presence. His words, perhaps intended to be insulting, manage to have the opposite effect. At the moment, B is admiring just how deadpan the angry words sound. Exactly like the rumors! This ironically, is exactly why, B is determined to match L in tone. Make himself sound even less amused if at all possible.]
Why.. [He chews briefly on an index finger, as though in serious contemplation.] It seems...
( ... )
[[L looks defiantly down at that finger, he was unhappy with it being so close to his face. He was pretty sure if B touched him, he may have to slap the hand away. No one was permitted to touch him without his express permission and even less was Beyond. He watched as the homicidal maniac poked toward him and accused him of calling him a monster.]]
You asked me for my opinion- what you read into it isn't my fault, B.
[[He tried again to move his leg, anything to get up and walk away. This is the last place he wanted to be or be stuck.]]
AT LAST. SORRY FOR THE LATEbeyondsightedMay 31 2011, 21:47:19 UTC
[B? Well! Of course they wouldn't be on first name basis- did Lawli even know about his dirty little secret? Hmm...-but in any case this is still leaps and bounds ahead of Backup. He's quite pleased by this.]
Of course it is! Words are the soil in which interpretation blossom. You know this, don't you? [He picks at his pristine fingernail as he organizes his thoughts.] Hm hm hm. It's lovely weather outside isn't it? [Then very abruptly.] What have you been doing with my name?
Dude lookit how late I am? lol.thumbonmylipJune 4 2011, 01:10:45 UTC
[[L watches the colour-stream of things that Beyond goes through. Its eerie that he's seen so little of him and yet has learned so many mannerisms. Of course, not to the fullest extent as it were, but it's eerie none the less.
He flexes his toes, trying to keep circulation going while Beyond asks about mundane things, the weather, what he's been doing with 'his' name. Blank stare meets an equally blank stare as it seems.
His body twists a bit more, not struggling, no, he can't look like prey in the eyes of a predator. Just pulling here or there while he has to endure Beyond and being this close to him while trapped. Maybe if he stops talking to him, the -- no he won't go away. He feels this in the back of his mind.
Instead.
Ignoring him will do the best for the situation. 98% chance Beyond wont help him. 2% chance he will. Either way L wins the percent game by 100% chance of Beyond being predictably unpredictable.]]
