Here we go again
Seeing how it's kind of the start of a new era, Charest is out; and Naeem is in school! (that probably deserves a post of it's on)This is a good time as any to finally finish flylady's baby steps in 31 consecutive days. click here for BABYSTEPS
I'll be posting for each step, unfortunately that's probably the only way I can stay on track,public check in/bookending. Self discipline is for suckas. Being accountable to others works wonders.
I have never completed the baby steps! Well I have done all of the steps but never in order or without miss a day or two. NEVER! I am determined to do this now. I have managed to keep some of the habits( empty sink, a sink like spot in each room, etc) I manage to FLY for a bit, but after a few weeks, months, whatever I lose it.
She is definitely not everyone's cup of tea. Alot of it is very sexist and preachy. The system works for me though. Doing a little bit at a time. Makes it much easier to a big clean up fast when you need to. And I love how she reminds you that your home didn't get that way in a day, so why expect to get it clean in a short time. It'sa ll about changing your habits and learning to become an organized person. Some of us are BO(born organized), but for the rest of us, there is flylady. LOL
Yes it's so corny. FLY stands for finally loving yourself; SHE for side tracked home executive;and CHAOS for can't have anyone over syndrome. The testimonials are out of control, she is basically telling women to shut up, stop complaining and just clean. UGGH, okay there are many problematic things with her,BUT I LOVED her book, sink reflections. I like alot of her philosophy, especially aiming for progress, not perfection. I got that down good. In fact, I can have anyone over when the house is not clean and not feel bad about it. It's that, or the fact that I can no longer do a 3 hr cleaning frenzy when I am having visitors because I have a toddler that can mess the house way faster than I can clean it. And what ends up happening is I just end up cleaning the mess he made, the rest stays the same.
Day 1
went well. I didn't use bleach, just vinegar and comet.
You can't really tell that much of a difference from the pictures. Yes I took pictures that I will post pics tomorrow
Keeping it shiny works much better with a dishwasher. I don't have any empty space under my sink so not too sure what i'll be doing with the dishes.
My apologies if you had never heard of flylady and are a bit horrified by something you read on her website.
Looking forward to my sink making me smile in the morning ;-)
