[Obsessions, thou art my speciality...]

So, a few years back, say a DECADE, OMG, my friend Deanna introduced me to Prison Break. I became obsessed, particularly with Dominic Purcell:

I developed quite an ear fettish during this time. I really loved the whole show, though, and all the characters, though Lincoln was my favorite.

Since they announced last week that they might be doing a limited return run with the show, I decided to pause my TVD rewatch and shoehorn in a PB rewatch. I blew through S1 relatively quickly, and then the other night I put in the first disc of S2. I had forgotten how quickly it devolved from the best show on TV to about 75% good because of a focus on storylines I didn't give a rat's ass about. I was super prolific as a writer during this time and it makes ALL THE SENSE now.

It's just too bad. Because it only gets worse from here. S2 is leaps and bounds better than S3 and S4 (which I don't even own, so I guess I don't really know why I started this rewatch at all)!

Anyway....my point is obsessions. PB ended in 2009, but I didn't get obsessed with TVD until 2010. And a few weeks ago, my friend Deanna, who first introduced me to PB to start with, came to visit. I was telling her all about my relationship with TVD being over and I told her I needed a new obsession, because, well, I'm one of those people who needs stuff like that.

Last night, I went to a friend's house, and we watched this movie called Austenland. As is often the case for me, it was my third encounter with this actor, JJ Feild...

My first encounter was in Captain America, The First Avenger, in which he has small but memorable part. Then last year I watched a Benedict Cumberbatch movie called Third Star in which JJ played his best friend, and the whole time I was like I LOVE THAT GUY. And then last night, I finally got to see him in a ROMANTIC LEAD role...and wouldn't you know it, it's a Mr. Darcy-type role.

SWOON.

But firstly, here is Keri Russell explaining my life:

Other gems:

Anyway, the movie is a RIOT. A crazy, ludicrous riot, that I am obsessively rewatching instead of writing like I should be. I do love all things Jane Austen, though, so I'm giving myself a reprieve. Plus, I am in need of a new obsession, as I mentioned!

Happy weekend!
