We Could Have Had It All (But You Played It To The Beat) ‘Ships
This is a step down from the Levels of Shipping: Defcon 5 (which you can
see here if you missed it). These are ships that, according to
leobrat, you loved, and adored, but if it ended up not working out, you didn’t turn off life for a month.
Basically this: you loved them, and it ended, and it sucked (in a WHY CAN’T I ALWAYS HAVE EXACTLY WHAT I WANT kind of way), but you lived with it.
And my number one with a bullet for this level:
I loved LOST from top to bottom, front to back, all the way around insanely much. But the truth is I started watching it because of Sawyer and Kate. Cage sex promos lured me in, when previous to 3x06, I had seen like 45 minutes of the S2 finale. But it lured me in, and made me set up my tent and LIVE there for the next four years. My experience with this show included a ferocious love of this ship, definitely as my OTP because I had a few other ships, like Jack/Juliet (they just made sense, didn't they???) and Boone/Shannon (dirty!wrong!bad!ship). Eventually I got onboard with Sawyer/Juliet, because while they were both of my favorite characters, my emotional investment with Sawyer/Kate made it difficult to accept.
And, for the record, I still don't understand the Jack/Kate ship. No chemistry, no heat, no reason why they should be together. I take my solace in the fact that Jack died on the Island and Kate and Sawyer got off it together. They spent their earthly lives together, and then had their reunions with their other partners after that. I can live with that.
Runner up:
I was okay with the way the series ended, because it still felt possible, of course, but not necessarily probable. And I drove seven hours ONE WAY to watch the film in the theater when it came out. But, even if Veronica had chosen Piz, I think I would have been okay with it, because it would have made sense. Veronica was very much of two personalities, and depending on the one she would embrace, her choice of life partner would greatly differ. I am fortunate that this one went my way.
