...and so TVD has been painful for a lot of people who ship Stefan/Elena.

But if you don't read E N D G A M E in everything that happened tonight, you are deluding yourself. I'm not trying to be mean, I'm just...I think there is subtext, and then there is this:

Here is the long shot, where you can see her on her tiptoes:




I didn't notice any discrepancies myself, but according to IMDB, Ian is about 3 inches taller than Nina, so, to me, in the first kiss shot where he leans in first and leans down, it's because she was flat-footed. For the other shots, I would assume she was on her tiptoes to be able to reach his mouth better, since they weren't wrapping their arms around each other.

The only shot of TVD that I know is a stunt double FOR SURE is the scene in 2x14, when Stefan and Elena are at Elena's parents' cabin and Stefan carries her over the threshold, because Paul's foot was broken and he couldn't do the shot. So his stunt double, a guy named John Gilbert, no lie, is the one carrying Nina, and kissing Nina, and that's why her hand is on his face in that shot, so you can't see that it's not Paul.

Other than a bunch of hopeful, bitter Stelena fans, I've seen no proof these shots involved stunt doubles. However, long periods of being rained on can't be anyone's favorite, hot or not, so if there are stunt doubles, it doesn't bother me. Johnny Depp's stunt double is the one who gave Captain Jack Sparrow his awesome diving form in Pirates; it's the character creation regardless of who performs it to me.

Well after you mentioned that it was shot in summer I thought it'd be odd that they got stunt doubles just for that purpose. I think the shot that really stood out for me is just before they break apart the first time and they're both in the shot. It could just be a weird angle but their shoulders are equal height...? Idk on re-watch before I'd even seen comments about it I did wonder because the shot does look weird. You could be right, Nina could just be doing a very good job of standing on her tip toes, and Ian could just be ducking a bit, but yeah.. idk something about that shot in particular and a few of the others when they were kissing looked a bit off some reason. Could have been the rain too I guess.

I believe the stunt doubles were used to set up the shot rather than to do the shot itself.
