So, an update of real life...and other fannish thingies...
[+] I got a new job! I'm so excited. I'll be working at our local Resource School, which helps with special ed for at-risk students. I rocked the interview, and one of the panel told me right after it that the job was mine, but there is a *second* interview that they said we would have to go through should we advance to round two. That interview is with the Superintendent of schools, and the soonest that they could get me in to see him is June 30th. On Friday, I was subbing at Juvie and the Principal of Court & Community Schools came through and told me that I would start on July 1st! For one thing I didn't think I'd start until August, so yay for more money SOONER, and for another thing, apparently I'm the ONLY one who progressed to round two, which means that interview is mostly a formality. I mean, he is the superintendent, so he could veto the whole thing, but it seems really unlikely. I'm very excited to get a full-time position with this employer, and I'm excited to have money again, because I've basically been under employed for about a year.
[+] My nephew and his wife had their first baby this morning (3:48am to be exact). They named him Carter Alan and he weighed 9lbs. 2oz., and is 21 inches long. A big boy, for sure. He's the first grandbaby of this generation, so we're all very excited, as one might imagine.
[+] I'm about 1/4 of the way through the Veronica Mars book, and it reads just like an episode. I really like it. I am sad that it doesn't seem like there will be any Logan in it, however.
[+] I saw the new X-Men movie when it first came out, but I'm planning on seeing it again tomorrow because it was so good. I have decided, however, that I do think Charles/Erik is a thing--which is funny because I normally don't see slash undertones at all unless someone points them out to me. And I remember people saying it about them in First Class, but I really felt it in this one so much more. Almost in a repressed sort of way which would be fitting of the time period. Since I never read the comics, I don't know if they do slash stories? Anyway, just curious if anyone has thoughts or feelings about it? Talk to me!
