So, you've been waiting for this one, right? I planned to do them last because they were the obvious answer for me for FOUR of the prompts, but I decided to do them now, because I have to purge my many feelings about them in the wake of the Season Five finale.

What haven't you heard me say about this couple over the last four years? I mean, in reality, you can scroll endlessly through this LJ for all of my love letters to them, about them, for them. From meta, to fic, to episode recaps, my love for them goes on and on and on and on, does it not?




So let's go item by item, shall we:

OTP For Whom You Never Seem To Run Out Of Inspiration
I have written over 60 fics, and somewhere in the neighborhood of 500,000 words about them. And if I so chose to let it happen, I could write another giant-ass story this summer about them, but I've been trying to let them go, as crazy as that sounds.

OTP With The Best Canon Story
I know many would argue various plot points with me about them, but I don't care. I love everything about Damon and Elena's story, from the messiness of it, starting with Damon killing Jeremy to every scary moment of S5, and that ending. That terrible ending, that could lead anywhere. But still what is more epic than a girl who meets a monster-boy on the road and he goes on to say that his life was made by the fact that she loved him? I love every moment, every facet of their story, and all the parts to come.

They are, hands down, for me, the prettiest, the sexiest, the BEST OTP of EVAH. I can't imagine ever loving a couple more than I love them. I think they have officially ruined me for anyone else. I can like other couples, and enjoy things to a level that I even write about them, but the level of my loyalty, the depth of my love, and the weight of my obsession will never reach this place again.

Even if they are never onscreen ever again, they will always be my One True Pairing.
