[I will say this for him, he almost NEVER gets charged with murder...]

I have so many thoughts and feelings about this movie that I decided to just break it down for myself. Even if no one else is interested in the whole thing, I GOTTA PURGE.

Because. Veronica Mars.

I tend to get crushes on writers just as much as I do actors, so my love for Rob Thomas grew exponentially with each passing moment in this film.

Let me pontificate!

[+] I had already seen the two minute recap from the opening--that sneak peek was online last week sometime. I loved how it put it all in a nutshell, both Veronica's motivations and Logan's post Lilly's murder. And how beautiful that the death of yet another girlfriend of his is what brings them back together. Ironic? Poetic? Both? Who cares! So AWESOME!

[+] Veronica's eff-u chapstick routine certainly set up the new, slightly more vulgar tone of the film. It was still VMars, it just had a little bit more edge, which is saying something for a noir TV show about a teenaged P.I. who was supposed to have had sex with her half-brother. Still wish that could have gone the way RT wanted it to.

[+] PIZ. I do love Piz. And he loves Veronica. I have a particular thing to say about both Logan and Veronica's relationships with other romantic partners, but I'm gonna save that for a later 15 minute segment.

[+] Okay, everyone remembers who Carrie Bishop was, right????

I guess they didn't have the $$$ to get Leigton for such a bit part anymore? It's too bad, really. But otherwise, I loved that diehards would know this girl, and believe Logan could have hooked up with her, as well as the others having had long-term friendships with her.

[+] Then shall we discuss that Logan's number and a picture of him from HIGH SCHOOL is still in Veronica's phone? Which, lets face it, in nine years, she's probably had at least two new cell phones. Now, I suppose she had the kind that just transferred all her data, right? So, it's not like she had to put him in there. But she NEVER TOOK HIM OUT. In NINE YEARS she hasn't spoken to him, but he's in her phone. Just like he's in her heart. *sigh*

[+] As an aside, there are several cool shots in this film that are silhouettes. The first one is when Veronica is in her bedroom getting dressed for her job interview. Then again when she answers Logan's call while waiting for her second round with Truman-Mann. (Then of course, again at the end of the film it's used, but I'll get that later....!)

[+] Okay, so their first awkward meeting in nine years. FOR SERIOUS. Logan in dress whites. Logan in the FUCKING NAVY. Logan, a fighter pilot? I just love it, all the way around. I love how completely awkward they are, while still somehow being completely perfect. I mean, whose first conversation after "nine years of radio silence" starts with "So, what's new with you?" when the guy's been accused of murder (yet again) and then when they see each other, it's all: YOU LOOK HOT IN YOUR NAVY WHITES, BUDDY. I, just can't with these two. It's the first onscreen moment in seven years, and I can't fucking deal with them and their faces.

[+] But then comes Keith and Veronica and I'm sort of verklempt over that, too, and I just have this huge love for every single character and all of their relationships. And then Keith's immediate understanding...it's Logan. It's always been Logan, it will ALWAYS BE Logan. And Veronica is in complete denial. It's so glorious.

[+] And the police are STILL CORRUPT. Or MORE corrupt, if that's possible. And just plain terrible. As usual.

[+] AND THEN MAC AND WALLACE. MAC AND WALLACE. WALLACE AND MAC. Being judgy yet good friends. Making jokes. Drinking beers. WALLACE AND MAC.

Alright, I'll be back tomorrow with at least the next 15 minutes, possibly more if I have time. Come talk to me. Really. I'm dying over here!

they made a movie y'all they really did, veronica mars
