I'm having a moment of ranting blather that's directed at nobody in particular, it's just something I want to get off my chest before tomorrow's episode of The Vampire Diaries.

As much as I don't want Katherine to die (because I really do love her as the villain), it would be uber poetic if Stefan was forced to kill her.

I dunno. I want to see Katherine survive until the end of the series because, as you say, she’s the villain of the show and I think she needs to be about somewhere; but she needs to go away now for awhile whatever happens. Although, unless she goes into Nadia, I can’t see that happening now.

What puzzles me though, is how can Stefan can be Katherine’s doppelganger partner if she is 300-whatever years older than him (and thereby he can’t be Elena’s either)?

I thought about that, too, that she should go to the end--but maybe only if they can somehow work it that we all think she's really dead (again) and she goes into hiding to prepare for the final battle? I don't know, I just can't handle her living amongst them after she's done this. It does seem like they've written themselves into a corner, though, because what else can happen besides her death? IDK.

I don't really understand how the doppelganger thing works either. Basically it seems like there's no discrimination: Stefan loved Kat, Stefan loved Elena, simply because the universe wanted him, too. There is the theory that they are ill-fated no matter what, though, so? I don't know. But I also believe love is a choice (attraction is not), so I've loved that they've had Elena "make the choice" and "stand by her choice" -- she has never blindly loved Damon; that's what makes them magical, and work so well, because there is no destiny crap at play. I sort of think they won't really address that further, but I could be wrong.

I know, other than Tyler, who just feels useless at this point, Katherine is the only one I've wanted dead out of pure vengeance. LEAVE MY BB DAMON ALONE, BEYOTCH!

I just hope the writers will be BRAVE enough to kill her. And though at this point I'd like Stefan or Damon to do it, I'd gladly accept anyone doing it. Bonnie, Caroline, Jeremy, Matt, TYLER. ANYONE!
