Bloom bloom
After the past few days, I'm hoping I can have better focus at work. After LCRD, my focus waned a bit, discouraged and a little in a funk. I need to change my mindset in tackling the FPGA and working on the IRAD. Steve Graham, a person in the higher level directorate, offered for me to stop by so I can tell him what I'm working on. At first when he offered it I was kinda going to brush it off but Andy encouraged me to accept his offer because he actually means his words. Just kinda tired of things getting nowhere within my branch, especially I'm at a dead end. I need to get out of the flopping about mode. And focus.
The past few weeks was great, I got to see family and friends before Thanksgiving. On Thanksgiving, did the turkey trot with the family. I ran slow with my family, but it was great. It was Baba and Keith's first road race, we all just had fun doing it. My dad told Jonie his best time for 4.1 miles was 1 hr 6 seconds, Jonie took him finishing in 47 mins - proud of my dad, he still acts like a whippersnapper willing to have fun. Another one of my highlights was running with Jonie. It's been awhile since I've been able to catch up with her since she's been busy with school, but I gave her the update on next year plans. She's really excited about it, got some of her preliminary input on it too.
Been really busy with church things. I've got my teens worship group, finishing up jr. high Sunday school tomorrow, leading a quartet for the Christmas program (and learning how to play the part on the viola), and selling calendars for the church building project. Yea I don't mind finishing up the Sunday school tomorrow, as great as it was working with the kids. After I came back to MD, I basically went running, got highlights in my hair (first time!) and spent the rest of the day working on various church things.
Last but not least, Kevin went to HK for the past 2 weeks. I've still been talking to him alot, over the next step we need to take over the next year. Been catching over video chat, during mornings and evenings (12 hours difference). Its pretty heavy discussions for the most part. Sometimes I can't believe that someone takes me seriously like that, after some past experiences from my younger years (getting bullied as a kid for an extended period of time really fucks the mind, even years later) and past relationships. Kevin's coming back from HK tomorrow :)
