If it was one thing that Aerith remembered about her mother it was the sound of her laughter, the melodious and sweet sound would always seem to cheer up the little girl whenever she was down or under the weather. Even after being experimented on, poked and prodded with needles and fingers of scientists, her mother would always have a smile on her face. She would always be well enough to pull her little girl into awaiting arms, murmuring soft words of reassurance to her little angel.
The last thing about her other she remembers was the laughter she emitted just before they ran away from ShinRa, the way one of the guards flirted with the full blooded Cetra and teased her.
That was the last time her mother would have ever laughed before finding herself dying at the train station of Sector Seven, her little girl sobbing over the ever-slow growing body and near-dead beating heart.
But now the sound of Elmyra’s laughter brings a smile to the flower girl’s face, bright and happy as she runs barefoot through the flowers of their backyard playing a childish game of hide and seek together.
