Dear self:
Stop wasting your time wondering who your character could fall in love with for maximum hilarity, and get back to pinning down her voice and making her speak up a bit more. Yes, it's hard to get a word in when five other people are already reacting and talking amongst themselves. You should try anyway, or your character becomes a non-entity.
