Peyton: still hot. Joseph: still scary good.

Oh, god. Football season. Thank you, God, it's back.

Even though both seasons (college and NFL) have already started, this was the first weekend it really felt like things were back in the groove. The good old two-days-two-games weekend, Saturday night at Chris's house and Sunday afternoon at the sports bar. And it was delightful, aside from having a consolatory drink post-Tennessee vs. Florida game (wahh! I hate you, Tebow!) in the middle of a gastritis flare-up, and getting very sick as a result.

Sunday afternoon was awesome, as it always is at our sports bar -- little groups of people decked out in their team colors clustered around the various televisions, shouts and curses drifting up from all corners, and when one group starts making a lot of noise everyone turns to see what's going on over there. We had a big contingent of Browns fans today, including the usual bartender, off-duty and decked out in orange camo shorts and carrying a giant dog bone. The Browns fans were happy; the Steelers (UGH) fans were happy; the Saints fans were back to their usual grim selves; the Giants fans were in another wing and were, presumably, miserable; and the Colts fans (i.e., David and I) were happy, aside from almost having a heart attack during the entire fourth quarter. Came home then and watched the Jets almost-almost come back from behind (*sniff*). I nearly stayed up to watch the night game, eager to see the Patriots getting their asses kicked, but lucky thing I opted for the sleep instead.

My fantasy team, the Illuminati Hotties, had a terrible week, but I love them anyway.

Now off to guzzle caffeine and do my homework and fake like a responsible adult until next weekend, glorious weekend.
