I think I somehow got as far as book 5 or so when I suddenly realized it had been three books since anything interesting had happened. So I stopped reading.
By the last two books, I was skipping every chapter with the girls and only reading about Matt, Rand and especially Perrin. If the last book is all Perrin, all the time, I might pick it up.
I'm gonna quote chaosvizierhere: I'll go on the record here and say I hate Robert Jordan. He almost was good. And then he kept writing. And writing. And writing COMPLETE GIBBERISH. Hates him we does, bagginses!"
He used to have a link to a fantastic piece of fanfic called "The End of the Wheel of Time" but alas! the link doesn't seem to work anymore.
Robert Jordan, for the love of little green apples, just shut up.
I tried to read Book 7 three times and then gave up on the whole thing. It gets more and more contrived and is nearly impossible to keep straight from Book 4.
Wheel of Time is like crack for me: It's bad for my health, but I can't seem to stop. I like the White Tower stuff, the Rand stuff, and the Mat stuff. The Perrin stuff started to get to me because it got all wrapped around the Shaido stuff, which I hated. The other Aiel stuff was great, and all the magic is great, but the political crap bores me, and so does the circus stuff. We need more fights with the Forsaken, or at least more passages dealing with them. I love the stuff with them
