Wheel of Time is like crack for me: It's bad for my health, but I can't seem to stop. I like the White Tower stuff, the Rand stuff, and the Mat stuff. The Perrin stuff started to get to me because it got all wrapped around the Shaido stuff, which I hated. The other Aiel stuff was great, and all the magic is great, but the political crap bores me, and so does the circus stuff. We need more fights with the Forsaken, or at least more passages dealing with them. I love the stuff with them.
Heck, I've even come up with the opposite of Balefire: Balearth. Instead of a destruction spell that travels back in time, create a barrier, or some other object that travels back in time.
Example: Want a ship to run aground really quick? Fire the Balearth spell where it used to be to create a sandbar or island. You could slow down a pursuer by creating a wall in their previous path. Heck, you could just throw a mudball at them to trip them up earlier than it hits them. Or perhaps the city was overrun because there weren't enough weapons? Conjure some back in time. It would take testing and practice, but it might do the trick in a pinch.
Oh, and I'm still trying to figure out who killed Asmodean.
