i am always curious about relationship fights and what they are about, especially when i hear about it from people who my perception of them is that they are super laid back and don't get that angry about much stuff (e.g. YOU!). i don't know, it's always really hard for me to imagine them fighting -- what it sounds like, how they act, the whole deal.
maybe some people feel that way about me, too, because i don't get very angry that often. or raise my voice almost ever.
also daaaaaaaaaaaaamn re: 4.5 years. i didn't realize it had been so long. that is pretty damn badass!
truth be told, i tend to fight a lot in relationships. not like scary gross fighting, just bickery pointless fighting. i've only been in two major relationships ever, really, and both involved a lot of fighting. also, my family basically communicates exclusively through yelling, so that's part of the problem. and i tend to get involved with people with strong personalities

maybe it's just a tonal inference because i have read you more than spoke to you, but i always take even your most opinionated stuff to be said in a super measured, smart dude chilling out talking type vibe. conversational, but not timid. and the one time we did hang out you were super relaxed seeming! i guess it's all presentation, or something

this will prob. sound weird but i really liked shirin and was bummed that you guys broke up! hopefully new GF is super cool too...
i'm definitely not bottle-up-y or passive-aggressive (most of the time), but i think i can act really mean once i'm convinced i'm right about something. less so as i turn into a dumpy old fart though.
thanks about mubi. i should be watching better stuff. i'm so addicted to TV now that it wastes a lot of productive movie watching time. like, i'm almost through the first season of "american horror story" right now, which is a show with NO REDEEMABLE QUALITIES other than the spectacle of watching tami taylor eating raw human brains for no particular reason. i think i just like the format of returning to a narrative over and over. but i should chill out and go back to film in a more committed way...
that doesn't sound weird! shirin is great. i'm glad you liked her. i mean, i was real sad that we broke up too even though it was my idea and in the end it was def for the best. she's one of the coolest people i have ever met. betsy is super cool also, though in completely different ways

"walking dead" gets marginally better. the story arc of the third season makes more sense. more action. a few decent casting additions. some notable deaths that are pure fan service, but kinda work because all the people on that show are insufferable. it's still written by pubescent boys though.
i wanna see "spring breakers," but i missed its run in erie. it actually played here! even if i hate it, the fact that it played here is an achievement in and of itself.
there's a lot of good tv out there, but i end up watching mediocre crap when the good stuff is on hiatus. i watched two full seasons of "the west wing"... what is wrong with me? i could have been watching all the demanding arthouse stuff clogging my netflix queue instead!
i too like the cupcakes on the wall. decorating is more important than we often think it is.
and fighting isn't a big deal. me and my GF fight *all the time* and we've been together for 4 and a half years.
