V Day and hypocrisy

Feb 15, 2011 10:16

You will not believe the super long rant I just deleted that talked on and on and on about why I dislike Valentines Day.. it was really long, trust me. I'll just do a cliffnotes version of holidays.

New years Eve- expected to buy fireworks, something nice to wear, alcohol, expected to have someone to kiss at midnight

Valentines Day- expected to get gifts, something nice to wear, go out to a nice place for dinner, put out for someone you care/love :p

St. Patricks Day- expected to get drunk, buy alcohol, wear green

Halloween- expected to go out and party, buy costume, get kids candy, possibly consume lots of alcohol

Thanksgiving- expected to spend time with family/loved ones and buy/eat lots of food and be thankful of stuff

Christmas- expected to spend loots of money on gifts for basically everyone who would be offended if you DID NOT get them something, especially if they are getting you something.. spend money on food also cause you gots to eat

Birthdays- expected to get someone a gift/receive gifts, party party party

I would say out of all of those, St. Patricks Day and Halloween are the only ones where you aren't really expected to have a loved one in mind to do something, or family.. birthdays too for that matter. Which is why I think Valentine's Day pretty much sucks, cause out of all those holidays [CHristmas a close 2nd] if you don't have someone to "share" it with, then you feel left out. That is also, if you choose to feel that way. Anyhoo, I basically just love to bitch about things, so this was my post about bitching.

Yesterday on Valentines Day we went to Chili's cause Dusty gets a 50% discount for working there, but they had a hr 1/2 long way, F that! Instead we went to Ichibon, a Japanese restaurant, and then to Best Buy where I got 2 music CDs.

Now this morning I am told I have a radiator leak.. on top of the brakes that I know I badly need to get replaced, and an alignment and tire rotations.. and possibly all new tires.. Wish I had more money :(
