Whew, sweeeeeeeeaty.  I just got finished walking across campus to get a parking permit before they stopped selling them for the day. Today is the last day of the so-called grace period for moving in and not having a permit, tommorow the campus police have a field day on all the slow, confused freshman and people who just couldnt be bothered to get one.  Overall I would say I'm.... neutral with my college experience so far.  I think I hyped myself up a little too much.  The college is nice, but it could never live up to the year of anticipation I built up for it.  The food is good so far, which is important to me.  Last night was International Theme Dinner night, which basically meant a lot of cultural food.  I had pierogies, jerk chicken, enchiladas, and then baklava for desert.  Im not expecting to eat good every night, but at least I know there are other food places on campus that will accept my meal plan credits.  I can always go to the Taco Bell in the Lane Center  :3   . Im feeling better about my room than I was on move-in day.  My room is on the backside of the building, so I dont have to listen to the guys playing football in the front yard, the kitchen is right on my floor and right around the corner of my room.  And so far there is no one particularly noisy nextdoor.  Though last night I swear people were having sex in the room above me, there was a little too much furniture noise and a few too many sounds that suspiciously reminded me of moans.
I met all my professors today, and so far they all seem pretty nice.  I can tell Dendrology is going to be my most difficult course, mostly because of all the field work.  I dont know the Frostburg woodland areas at all, but Im going to have to go out on my own to collect plant samples and practice field identification.
My social experience so far has been.... lackluster.  I havent really met anyone yet except for a girl who approached me at dinner last night to tell me how much she loved my hair, and even that was about a 2 minute long conversation.  I didnt expect to dive headfirst into a brand new social life, but this is still going slower than I expected.  Its harder than I thought to be dropped into a place where I dont know anyone at all.  I think its about time I go out and give it another try though, dinner started 10 minutes ago and I missed lunch because of class.  If I can think of anything else to write about, or if I feel particularly inspired, Ill write more tonight.  And as I dance a merry jig across the parking lot to Chesapeake Hall, I hope you all (or at least any of you who read this) know that I miss you.  Though there is someone I miss substantially more, I dont feel the need to name them because they know who they are, and it does no one any good for me to blatantly say it.  Anywho, see you later, Cecil County, I hope you all are having a good week.
