An awesome end to a relaxing week.

Twice a year, the physics department here puts on a night of video games and physics demonstrations. This was the second one, and I had a blast!

The first part was waiting for everyone to arrive so the tournaments could commence, so I played a few rounds of Brawl and wandered around for the bit before we all went outside for the diet coke and Mentos rocket, the second of which didn't go off, much to our surprise.

Back inside, one of the biology students brought out one of the younger grass snakes, a cutie named Thurgood, no longer than a foot and about a third of an inch around. I let it crawl around on my hand for a bit, and maaaaaan did it feel awesome! Just feeling those little muscles cling to my fingers and wind in and around them was incredible. I've always wanted a little corn snake or something, so this was great for me. DID I MENTION HE WAS ADORABLE?

The rest of the night was spent rocking on Rock Band, singing everything from Piano Man to In The End to Roxanne to Bohemian Rhapsody. Truly, it was excellent. My voice is almost completely shot now, but it was soooooo worth it just to have a good time.

And in the end, that's all that matters, isn't it?

video games, college, life, geekery, science!!!, random journal
