I've been riding pretty much every day and I've taken up a new project...
her name is Princess and she's a 17.1 light gray mule who's been badly treated before and needs to learn that not all humans are going to hurt her. she really wants to be a love, she's just afraid. because no one rides her she's hugely fat, and already being tall she's huge! my 38 inch cinch i put on her today barely peaked out a few inches on either side of her belly. She also thinks that being almost white isnt cool...she'd rather be mud brown.
the funniest thing about her is that she is a freight train. by that I mean she'll plow through anything. most of them you can let them walk on the trail and they dont need constant guidance and will go around obstacles, not Princess! she loves to break small tress and downed branches. we came up to a fallen sapling that was about two and a half feet off the ground and instead of picking up her feet or going around...straight through. I think she just likes the cracking sound.
once we get over the ear phobia she'll be a real nice ride, even if she does try to demolish the forest.
I'm still riding Zorro on a pretty regular basis, and I'm glad I'm going to start being around more because it seems he's kicked at a few people recently. I've got to whip that boy back into shape since his current rider doesn't really know how.
Hope you all are having a wonderful winter, and have a happy newyears!
