We had a snowstorm Saturday that eventually turned to freezing rain and then back to snow during the night. Sunday was the local Christmas Bird Count. Since the roads weren't fit to drive on first thing in the morning, I spent a couple hours walking around my neighborhood and the local park. A few weeks ago I was looking out my bedroom window when I spotted a Red-tailed Hawk being mobbed by Common Grackles. They chased it quite a long distance, attacking it when they could.

I saw a Red-Tailed Hawk building a nest on the front of one of the buildings on the University of Pittsburgh campus. I want to get better ones soon. :)

I took a trip out to Northern California (The Sacramento Area) at the end of last month. I finally got all the pictures edited. Not technically my backyard but I wish it was.

My uncle sent me this photo of a picture he took from his backyard. This hawk was waiting patiently for little birds to visit the feeder, but I'm told none of them fell for it. :D
