This is going to be the last post I make about Katrina, but I had to say this. Locally, at least, there's been a lot of support...money, food, clothes, etc. But also, there's been an overwhelming cry of "the government isn't helping as much because they're racist ( Read more... )

i agree with the race thing.

however i must say if the gov't put up as much cash as they are daily for the "war"....a lot more people would have been rescued...in my opinion.

Dubya has been a little slow on it, but the money is coming. Why did you put war in quotes? Don't tell me you're turning into one of those people that pulls their opinions off the news/from professors.

The race card is thrown out and lots of blame is thrown out because people would like to just go about living their lives as usually assured that someone else is dealing with the situation. Rather than going and helping ourselves, we sit on our fat American butts and blame. URG! :) Thanks for the post. My heart breaks for all the people there knowing how horrible Hurricanes are and how confused and broken the people become.
