ALC was depressing tonight. So depressing that I'm listening to Linkin Park just to brighten my spirits a bit. I wonder when the systematic destruction of everything good and decent still remaining at St. Paul's will finally end.
Anyways, I've more or less decided that I want to help organise Blackforest next year. I will be here in the Winter 2006 term (my last term at SPUC, ever). Since there will be a large amount of turnover in the students next year and no other students living here who have helped organise it (save Lloyd), I think that it would be worthwhile to help organise the event and keep the tradition running. It will be my final contribution to the college before jetting.
If I had known that I was going to return to SPUC for another year, I would have signed up to be a FOC for this fall. But it works out well that I didn't know at the time (and, hence, didn't volunteer) because Frosh Week is my only stretch of uncommitted personal time during this entire calendar year.
Fall 2005 Course
RS 384 (Christian Hymnody): An entire course on the development and style of Christian hymns! That's so exciting! It counts towards my minor in Church Music & Worship. W 7:00-9:50
Winter 2006 Courses
Here are my tentative plans for my next term on-campus. I know that I'm a geek for doing this so early. Hopefully there won't be many more changes to the course scheduling. I could take just four courses since I'm ahead in credits, but by taking three semi-easy Arts courses with two medium-difficulty CS/Math courses, I can have a term with a reasonable workload and have a term where I only take 3 courses (ahem...the term I take Graphics?).
CS 370 (Numerical Computation): Counts towards my CS major and is a prerequisite for Graphics, which I want to take (since I know ZILCH about graphics). I should be able to coerce my CS buddies into taking this course. MWF 10:30-11:20
CO 487 (Cryptography): Patricia is also taking this course, so it'll be nice to have a C&O major helping me out. Even though it's listed as CO, it counts as a fourth-year CS major course. And besides, cryptography would be cool to study. MWF 11:30-12:20
FR 252 (French Level 2: Module 2): I took French for two terms in first-year and got exceedingly high marks barely lifting a finger. I want to brush up on my French skill and get a chance to develop the oral component a bit more. MWF 1:30-2:20
SPAN 101 (Intro to Spanish): Should be easy, since I'm fairly good with languages. I've been wanting to take this since first-year and was going to take it this term (if it weren't for the Registrar cancelling my original choice of CS 350 section), so I'll be glad to learn at least a little bit of Spanish. TTh 10:30-11:50 + 50-minute lab
MUSIC 253 (Cathedral & Court: Music History to 1600): This counts towards my minor and would have an emphasis on early church music. W 7:00-9:50
Wow, I can't believe that is actually is a mood!
