Onionschwitz Explained
There's a giant cow feedlot/factory farm on the 5 between SF and LA that is nicknamed cowschwitz. But driving in the area the other day we didn't notice the awful manure smell, but passed a giant onion harvest so intense we could barely breathe and our eyes watered.
The central valley in CA is all agriculture, right up to the edge of the highway. The cool part was that most of what we saw was cotton, with giant piles of it on the sides of the road.
