Ugh, sorry it's taken a while to post this. One of my NY resolutions was to write every day, so I feel guilty if I sim more than I write. On top of that, summer has finally arrived (37C yesterday, extra ugh) and when it gets like that, all you can do is keep your exertion to the absolute minimum. And THEN, the FTP wouldn't let me upload.
Anyway, all of that is out of the way at the moment and so, here's Damien! This is Krow's Xenophillia challenge, though it got off to a bit of a rocky start. Darn boy just wouldn't conceive. This week went much better.
So, Damien's about a day out from second birth, which I'll probably randomise to help make up for lost time. (Famous last words, amirite?)
His firstborn, Zinc, is also a day out from childhood. That's how long it took for the second pregnancy, seriously. SO ANNOYING. She seems to have had a fear of a family member dying, because her aspiration is rock-bottom red. :C
Damien persevered to cheer her up. C:
A few hours later, the kidlets arrived. I ended up choosing twins, since it made the most sense. He ought to be up to kid three by now anyway, if my game would work properly.
Two girls - one with brown hair, which I found very surprising. The other is black haired. They're Yttrium and Xenon, in keeping with the chemical element theme. Yttrium has the brown hair.
After settling them in their cribs, I took away the flowers on the table and lo, Damien sits in the kitchen to eat. Just as well, since it's turned to winter and soon it'll be too cold to eat outside comfortably.
I don't really care for the brown hair, but at least I can tell the twins apart at this point.
Zinc grew up at 6pm, with PJs that are ridiculously appropriate.
Facially, she's pretty similar to Aurora Crowley, though that isn't a bad thing. She grew up in mid green, and actually a pretty decent spectrum of skills. She's got 10 points active and 10 points playful, so she's going to be a handful to keep happy, but oh well. That's kind of the least of Damien's concerns.
Success! He had to be abducted twice in one night, but it worked in the end. Incubation 3 is now in progress. The poor lad is understandably exhausted by all of this.
I also just realised that he lives across from two bars. Oops. I really need to 'zone' this 'hood properly, but the streets are so spaced out that it's a real chore. Pro-tip: NEVER CHOOSE A BIG 'HOOD for a BACC. It is SUCH a pain to zone without looking stupid.
Come morning, first day of school for Zinc! I guess this makes her the same age as Aegirine and Borax, roughly.
I hate messy sims, they break things so fast (Zinc, I'm looking at you). Also, this house needs a good makeover, both with the interior and the layout. BRING IT. It's been a while since I've done a proper house reno. C:
Predictably, Zinc is a handful to keep occupied and happy.
I am pleased by your development, Damien. Shame about the neon, though. It's really starting to annoy me.
I think Marie is a future Popularity sim. I don't think there's a single household with kids in it that she hasn't visited.
Anyway, that evening the twins grew to toddlers. C:
Not the most complimentary growing up look, lol.
Annnnnnnd they got burgled. They were one of the few families to not get burgled last week, so I guess it had to happen some time.
Twins was a bit of a dumb idea, but I wanted to keep up with the pace of the challenge. I can't imagine having to handle triplets. 8|
The servo was running around in the background for some of this, and managed to produce the largest pile of garbage I've ever seen in TS2.
Pretty impressive work.
Zinc was having trouble maintaining her fun, with school making it red, and running out of energy at night before she could complete her homework. So, I allowed her to miss the bus on Day 3, so she could spend the day righting herself.
Here we go agaiiiiiin. At some point I'd really like a kidlet with gold eyes and blue skin, but I don't like my chances.
Another girl!
Her name is Vanadium. That's 4 of 7, so not long to go now. C:
The servo was glitching quite badly, so on friday evening I moved him out. He won't be back.
I did the same for Damien and co., to hopefully resolve the issues. Bills were disappearing, the servo couldn't feed Vanadium properly, stuff like that.
I had to replay friday and the welcome wagon showed up along with Alec Walter, so of course he was the only one that Damien payed any attention to. Gotta check out a future brother-in-law, right?
That evening, Damien hired a nanny to supervise the kids for a few hours.
It was a messy few hours. Fortunately, Damien conceived promptly and so Saturday could be spent recuperating in peace.
Jupiter makes a point of inviting himself in.
And then Pregnancy Four arrived. C:
All of a sudden it was sunday, much more quickly than I anticipated. That meant, though, that I could get stuck into fixing up the house. :D
So this is what they get.
Downstairs, Damien's bedroom was converted from 5x4 into 4x4, so I could move the bathroom over by one. The nursery was made a little bigger, so it could fit three cribs and a change table. Before, two cribs and a table, or three cribs and no table was the max. Not the most useful for a xenophillia challenge.
The kitchen booth was removed, since they really only work for eating in restaurants, unfortunately. At home, their capacity is a max of two. That was replaced with eating space for six, and the wall was shifted back by a tile to accomodate that. The bedroom that used to be next to it was removed, and that space was opened up to allow for more hobby/skilling room. I'm not completely happy with the layout, but I think it'll do for now.
Upstairs, there's a bathroom, a hobby room for quieter activities, and space for five kids (though admittedly it's a bit spartan). Ideally, the downstairs nursery would be converted into a bedroom for another two or three sims, giving total sleeping space for a full xeno family. The upper layout is a bit tight, and I'm sure there'll be traffic issues, but it'll be okay for now. If it gets really bad, there's room for a basement and I can put bedrooms down there. C:
This house can be downloaded so if you want to check it out,
head on over here! Once they were settled in and 6pm rolled around, it was birthday time for the twin girls.
Yttrium grew up in borderline green/gold, with a small amount of mechanical and creativity skills. She has a very different personality to Zinc, with 10 neat, 10 active, but 2 shy and 1 nice. Having grown up gold and with skills in mechanical/logic, Xenon is different yet again. She's 10 neat, 10 outgoing, 1 serious and 9 nice. Personality bonanza, lol.
For some reason, I only took a close-up of Yttrium, who dresses in bright colours.
Her sister, Xenon, prefers a slightly more sombre tone and is sporting the green/brown on the right of the picture.
And I know, I know. They all have short, dark hair. They're all black eyed and blue skinned, and they all have fringes. You'd think I'd make it a little easier to tell them apart. NOPE.
Vanadium had her birthday too, some hours after the rest.
She has the same PT as Yttrium, apparently, and Harlequin.
Damien finished up the week by passing out in his salmon, and that was it for their week.
I'm actually skipping on taxing this lot - per challenge rules, he receives an income on a weekly basis for groceries and such. He's been living off the original 50k just fine, and he doesn't own a business, so there's no need for it. A shame 'cause I WANT my university, but no point taxing where it doesn't really make sense.
So there we go. No change to the taxfund, but the population increases by another 3.
