So before I had my LO, I bought a ring sling from
BabyEtte and I've loved it! However, I've found it a little cumbersome for around the house (the way weight is distributed isn't very ergonomic IMO). It's great for throwing on and doing quick trips into a store. So, I bought a gauze wrap from her and I'm in love! However, I can see why it's more advanced LOL. I've got the front wrap down... mostly :)
I have a few questions:
1. Nursing. I've seen videos where you lower baby to breast level and they nurse upright, but it seems to work better with an older baby. While my LO is still working on head control, should I just expect to have to unwrap, rewrap after? Is there a vid/guide somewhere that would show me how to do this? I just wanted to know because I'd love to nurse my baby while doing things :)
2. While my little 2 month old is a little small, it looks like some people wrap with their older baby on their back. A toddler makes sense, they can grab your neck, but I watched a video with this one woman who did this magical flinging of baby onto her back and it nearly gave me a heart attack!! What age can you start a back wrap? I assumed closer to the first year, but this woman's baby looked like it was at the 6-8 month mark. And HOW DID SHE DO THAT?? Is there another way that doesn't look like you might accidentally throw the kid or drop him?
3. With wearing him, I still get pain in my lower back after a bit (kind of like when I was preggo). Is this just par for the course or is there a better way to wrap to support the lower back?
4. The woman who made my sling and wrap also has baby wearing ponchos and they look wonderful! Does anyone have one? It'd be perfect for fall/spring where I'm at (but not winter where it gets insanely cold - so I'll have to figure that one out). Just thought I'd ask for reviews and/or recommendations of other baby wearing weather products :)
Thank you all!! :D
