Ergo = bad?

So I'm in another parenting forum with an emphasis on attachment style parenting/baby wearing. I mentioned I use an ergo and was instantly told I was doing things wrong/the ergo sucks/etc. I was under the impression that it was one of the best ssc? I guess my not using a wrap or rs was an issue. So I was just looking for opinions here, as that community tends to be extreme. Is the ergo a bad choice for baby wearing? Is it a less desirable choice?
