Too many thoughts on the BSC
Okay... I'm curious... in BSC 28, "welcome back stacey!" Stacey's mom purchased this relatively big house in Stoneybrook. It was out of her price range and she had no job. So my question, what sort of bank would give her a mortgage? It took her *forever* to get a job, so the bank had no promise that they would get their payments? I doubt that her former ex husband would have been a guartantor for her and if she got spousal support, i doubt it would have covered all expenses for a house. How did she afford it? Why didn't they rent an apartment until she got a job? Which begs the question, did any family in the BSC live in an apartment in Stoneybrook?
I really overthink this series too much. Like Abby's mom works in New York, right? and commutes to Stoneybrook.. why couldnt' Stacey's parents do that? and how much, exactly, does Abby's mom make? Because if they live in Kristy's neighbour, that family isn't exactly hurting for cash, so how do they afford a mansion?
It seems to me that all the families in the BSC were fairly weathly. They all seem to have big houses. It would have been interesting to see a truly "poor" character... gah, can you imagine if Mallory was the truly poor one? "I'm so poor and ugly! My parents cannot even afford to get me braces!" or something like that.
On a random note, as some of you remember, a couple of weeks back i asked if anyone had a copy of OLB's "Meant To Be" I got in touch with her and she send me a copy. some of you asked for a copy if i got one. She requested to know who would be getting a copy before i sent them out. So if you still want one (and not intimated by the length of it-- 975 pages!!), just let me know and it will funnel through to you soon :D
