And I thought THAT was bad?

Here I thought our last entry had been long overdue, and this one's even worse!

SORRY! I think you've probably assumed that things are super busy, which is a major understatement. We've been nuts! But life is great and I don't think any of us would change a thing. I've neglected my little baby book and everything, so I have a lot of catching up to do pretty much everywhere.

Mikey's changing so much. He's 8 months old now and doing something new everyday. He's so close to crawling it's scary! Right now he just sits there at daycare and looks at his little girl friends (Delaney and Logan) crawling around and rocks back and forth on his knees. Pretty soon he'll take off like a little baby bullet, and we're not even close to ready. We haven't thought about baby gates yet, which just goes to show how deeply in denial we are. (How deeply I am anyway!)

Still no teeth! I can see one ready to come out any time, but it's still hanging out below the surface. A tiny piece of it has poked through, but it's been like that for weeks. I guess it's just stubborn! I had a dream the other night that Mikey woke up one morning with a mouth full of pearly whites. I bet that's how it happens - overnight. Everything else does!

Mikey's first Halloween is just around the corner. He's going to be a dinosaur this year... The Droolasaurus Rex! He's going to kill 'em with cuteness. Possibly drool, too. He loves his costume so much, especially the little feet and teeth. It doesn't seem to phase him that he has a tail at all. I can't wait to get him all dressed up on Monday and see what his buddies at daycare dress up as.

He took his first school pictures last week! When those come in, I'll be sure to post them in his albums. I've been told he was a total champ and that his pictures should be priceless.

Have I mentioned how in love with him I am? :D

Work is going extremely well for both Mike and myself. We both feel blessed to have been given the opportunities we have at YHB and BOE. It's amazing what being happy with your job can do for ones whole outlook. Man!

I participated in the 1st Annual Chick-Fil-A Dodgeball tournament last Saturday with the Bank of Essex team, the BOE Bruisers. Mikey was our mascot, Li'l Bruiser! It was a great time. We lost our first 7 games, but swept our last 2. I got to meet Darrell Green, retired Redskin. Plus I took one for the team! And by one I mean a 845 mph bullet to the head. This enormous man on the Genworth Financial team just about killed me. HAHA But I didn't cry and I didn't let on that it actually hurt. (One girl got hit like that and it broke her nose!) Ah, it was worth it. It benefitted the Darrell Green Youth Life Foundation of Richmond and the Niger, Africa School Fund. I believe I read that the tournament raised over $50,000 for these causes. Go us!

Speaking of overnight up there, the weather has changed dramatically. No more short sleeved shirts and sandals! It's soooooo cold in the mornings. Yuck. But there's this poem that I've read recently about December that says we're closer to spring now than we were in September. I guess that's true, but still. I'm just such a bad winter person. hehe

Anyway, I'm off to carve a pumpkin. Hope you guys have a lot of fun on Halloween night. Just be careful!

Much love,
The Nyalko's
