Well, this had been a wasted endeavor. The longer Adrian spent at the Castle, the more restless and urgent his desire to get out of it and just figure this place out became. He wanted to check on those down in the barracks, wanted to seek out Adric and Takato and Wiegraf and just... make sure that those who hadn't been eaten by a monster had still survived all right. Perhaps his biggest discomfort was that while initially his excuse for not going had been that he was unprepared to abandon Lia in the Castle, but that increasingly, it was that the task of actually pushing himself to set off on the journey at all was becoming daunting in his mind.
He'd initially come up to the battlements to try and get his bearings of the place a little better, maybe even scope out where the infamous barracks were. Now that he was actually up there though, all he could see were trees, mountains and mist, and the endeavor seemed to became even more challenging in his mind.
Shifting forward, to the very edge of the battlements, he peers over into the gardens. How much work does it take to keep a place like this running? How much harder could they be making it? And how long will Tempest keep letting them stay here for free before she decides to call in her debt?
