Guide my feet and guide me true, keep me turning to the right... [Closed: New Arrivals]

Apr 18, 2011 21:43

It doesn't get any warmer or brighter as the day - or night - goes on. But after a while, a light appears out there in the darkness, different from the gleaming lights of animal eyes. It's a candle flame, burning an improbably clear gold, and bobbing steadily closer through the trees.

Before long, the woman holding the candle comes into view: short, stocky, gray-haired and utterly unthreatening, but the creatures in the trees keep their distance as she approaches the newcomers. She halts at the edge of the trees, bright eyes flickering over the people gathered there, and then clucks her tongue in quiet disapproval.

"Oh, children. It takes a certain kind of luck to get as lost as you are now."

[OOC: You can start multiple threads or all pile into one, whatever works for you. She will give you candles assuming you let her borrow a little of your blood first that will lead you to the barracks, the castle, or to any friends you might have in the rescue groups out here in the Dark Woods - your choice on which one it may be.

The candles will burn brighter when you're facing the right direction, and will start to gutter if you turn the wrong way. Most monsters out here in the Dark Woods will also be reluctant to come into the light cast by the candles, so you want these things - but if your character's reluctant to let a strange fairy poke them with a knife, they can tag along with someone who got a candle, provided they stick close by.]
