OK, so there are zombies
The first I actually saw of anything was when I left work. I heard what sounded like gun fire coming from the roof of our building as I went to my car. You see, I work with a few guys who are proud to be called gun nuts. They normally always have some kind of firearm on them or in their vehicle. I guess they'd heard about the zombie outbreak and went up to the roof for some target practice. I didn't see many zombies around to be honest. There were two laying with their heads blown off on the other side of the parking lot. I saw them take one down with a rifle from across the street. That's all though.
The way home seemed alright. The roads were fairly empty for a Friday night rush hour. I saw some smoke rising off in the distance in a few areas. I suppose people quickly figured out that they should burn all these remains.
My neighborhood seems fine. Nothing out of the ordinary. I hear lots of emergency vehicle sirens, but there's no activity close to me. It looks like several of my neighbors either evacuated or never made it home from work. I understand DC was having some power outages and metro problems today. I've heard from taraione and she's on her way home now. If my route was fine then hers should be too. inner_salvation also checked in to say he and the wife were gonna trek over here.
A couple of zombies here and there is nothing major. Shoot 'em in the head, burn the corpses and let's be done with it.
Oh, and I heard about Tim Russert dying. I wonder if it's related and he's going to come back. That's an interesting question. Is everyone coming back now or just a few? Anyone know? Anyway, Tim Russert spoke at my commencement, but I never really followed the guy's work. I hear he was a pretty straight shooter and that's rare in news these days.
