Time is totally flying on by.  I can't believe it's mid-April already!  It's also tax day.  Blegh.  Luckily we got ours taken care of last week or so.  The weather has been absolutely dreary this month.  Cold and wet.  Yukkiness.  When is the warm spring weather going to kick in?  I know it's here already because my lawn is covered with chirping ( Read more... )

Maternity leave is so crazy and varies so much from state to state and company to company. Fortunately for me our company pays what the state doesn't pay so we get full pay during maternity leave. In California you get 4 weeks (i only took 2 wks before) before the birth of your child (to prepare) and then 6 weeks after the birth of your child. Since I have been w/my company for 13 years, I have a total of 18 weeks of paid leave. So I have been on maternity leave since since Dec 11th. I return to work on April 21st. My paid leave (full pay) was 16 weeks total. I am on bonding leave now (california state pays for 6 weeks of that after you use up the 4 weeks before and the 6 weeks after) My company does not pay for time off for bonding leave so I am getting state disability payments. Meanwhile I am using vacation time at work for the time off. the bonding leave money is "extra" pocket money.

ultrasound...
dont' worry about the ultrasound. A lot of times ultrasounds are repeated b/c the baby was not cooperating bc he was moving too much or he was facing the wrong way. Another reason for repeat ultrasounds are b/c the techinician SUCKED! Don't stress or think too much about it b/c you don't need that kind of worry. I know everything will be ok. It happened to me a couple of times with my previous pregnancies. email me if you have questions...acutenanner@gmail.com
