Chapter 6
There; he’d said it. Now that it was out, he wanted to scream it from the rooftops. “I love you, Lex.”
Lex stared back at him in silence. Then: “You’re sure?”
“Lex, I’ve never been more sure of anything in my life.”
Lex swallowed, his eyes bright. "And if I were to say that I felt the same way about you...?"
Clark’s eyes widened. “Oh, wow. Really?”
He nodded. “For a very long time now. But you were always so into Lana, so I thought I didn’t stand a chance.”
Ah, yes… Lana. “I thought I was; but I guess I just liked the idea of what she represented,” Clark admitted.
“You wanted to be normal,” Lex surmised. “You’re anything but normal, Clark, and I mean that in the best possible way. You need to embrace every aspect of who you really are; only then can you truly be happy.”
Clark smiled. It seemed Lex knew him better than he knew himself. “I realise that now, and that’s why I didn’t want to let another day go by without you knowing how I really feel,” he replied honestly. “I never felt for her the way I feel for you, Lex. In fact, I have a confession to make.”
Lex raised an amused brow. “Another one?”
“After you bathed me the other day, I… got myself off in the bath,” Clark said sheepishly.
“I did the same. In my own bathroom, of course, but… yeah.”
Clark stared in surprise. “Wow. I never really thought about us that way before; not seriously.”
Lex grinned. “I did.”
“You did?”
“All the time. It’s not easy to watch you and not be moved by you, Clark. You’re… incredibly compelling. I’ve been drawn to you from day one.”
“Huh. So, you’ve actually thought of…”
“Having sex with you?” Lex said bluntly. “Plenty of times. My hand can bear witness.”
Clark reddened with embarrassment. “Lex!”
“Don’t be embarrassed. You’re an incredibly beautiful man, Clark.”
“You never said anything,” he said quietly.
“I wanted to wait until you were old enough before I said anything, mainly to give you the opportunity to discover your own sexuality.”
Clark nodded in understanding. “Right. Sorry it took me so long.”
Lex smiled and rested a hand on Clark’s cheek. “Well, you're definitely worth waiting for.”
Clark grinned back, then leaned forward and kissed him, almost instinctively. Lex’s warm, soft lips parted beneath his and he slipped his tongue between them, as if they’d kissed hundreds of times before.
There was something liberating about this particular embrace. All cards were on the table; they’d both admitted their feelings for each other, and there was no big alien secret hanging between them. It felt right.
They stumbled over to the bed and collapsed onto it. Clark lowered himself onto Lex and deepened the kiss, their tongues entwining with a raw hunger that had gone unspoken for so long.
He felt the hard heat of Lex’s erection pressing against his own and he moaned loudly, rubbing himself ardently against Lex until both their pyjama pants grew damp with arousal. Clark’s hands pushed eagerly at the fabric, ridding them both of their clothing until they were completely naked, skin against skin.
“God, that’s so good,” Lex whispered shakily. “You feel amazing.”
Clark’s hands explored the smooth expanse of Lex’s porcelain skin, then grasped the firm flesh of his buttocks and thrust against him. He felt himself getting warmer, his eyes beginning to itch and burn, and he squeezed his eyes shut…
“Oh, God,” he whispered hoarsely. He lifted himself off Lex and scrambled back, his eyes wide in fear.
Lex sat up and reached out to him. “You okay?”
Clark shrank back. “I’m sorry… I want this, I really do, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to-”
“Relax, Clark,” Lex said gently. “Tell me what’s wrong.”
Clark took a deep breath and continued. “With my abilities, I’m worried I might hurt you,” he replied worriedly, his voice shaking. “Look at what happened with the heat vision earlier; I could have burned you to a crisp-”
“But you didn’t.”
“-and just now, it started happening again. If I lose control…”
“Clark, you don’t give yourself enough credit,” Lex said gently. “You’ve never hurt me with your abilities before, and I trust you to be careful enough not to barbecue me in the heat of the moment.”
Clark sighed. “I wish I could trust myself,” he replied glumly, “But this is all kinda new to me; I just don’t know what to do.”
“It’s okay, I understand. I don’t exactly go around propositioning men, either,” Lex replied with a smile. “Listen, we don’t need to do everything in one day, okay? We can just take our time, and see where this goes.”
“But what if I don’t, or can’t…y’know… excite you?”
Lex’s eyes twinkled with affection. “You’re worried you won’t turn me on?”
Clark’s cheeks reddened and he lowered his gaze. “I guess,” he mumbled.
Lex took his hand and kissed his fingertips before pressing Clark’s palm to his heart, which thumped strongly beneath his fingers. “This is how you make me feel, and we haven’t even done anything yet. I love you for who you are, Clark; not what you can do for me. Though I’m sure I’ll be thrilled with whatever you come up with.”
Clark smiled, his relief evident. “Thanks for the vote of confidence.”
“You’re welcome.”
He took a deep breath. “Okay. So… what do I do now?”
“What do you want to do?” Lex offered.
Clark smiled shyly. “Can I kiss you again?”
“You can do whatever you want with me, Clark. Just go with what you feel, and we’ll be fine. If you think you’re about to lose control, just take a deep breath and steady yourself. I trust you.”
“You’re sure?”
“I’m sure. Now kiss me.”
