I haven't done much scrapbooking in Abby's memorial album since Charlotte was born but I wanted to finish up to the day of her funeral. After that day, a whole new chapter began.
In the order they appear in the book....
The original and two photo-shopped pictures of Abby's feet, along with an adapted footprint poem.
My "Dina page" with the sympathy card she gave me.
Pictures and memories of going to the church for the funeral, seeing Abby for the last time.
Writing about
my experience of divine peace the day of Abby's funeral.
Abby's funeral begins.
Lyrics to "With Hope" that played as the funeral began.
The burial service.
Leaving roses for Abby, and I adapted a poem about a white rose for this page as well.
Our last moments with Abby.
Back at our house, after the funeral.
I still have some finishing touches to put on the pages (heart shaped punches and such, that I will do next week) but I'm glad that I've finished these. It's always painful to go back and relive those days, but in a strange way, it's comforting too. Her next scrapbook will capture all of the things we've done throughout the years to remember her. Memorial tattoos, birthday celebrations, Canada Day balloons, cemetery pictures, etc. These albums are for me, but I hope that someday my children or grandchildren will look through them and remember her as well.
