Time: 2:38 a.m.
She's been nursed, rocked, walked, and repeat since......11-ish? Thank God for my nap today, or I would be really messed up right now. Jack has been up this whole time too. He rubbed my very sore hip and back while I tried to nurse her in bed, he got up and walked with her so that I could try to sleep, but the sharp stabbing pain in my SI joint/sciatic just wouldn't let me get comfortable or fall asleep. I got up and took some Ibuprofen but it didn't do much for me. My massage therapist is on holidays for a month and the only other one I know is on maternity leave. Ouch :-(
My nose is stuffed up and dripping down the back of my throat (cold? allergies??), my throat is scratchy, my hip and back are killing me, and Julia has been up with a barking cough as well. Now, everyone is tucked into bed asleep, except for Charlotte who is sleeping in her swing, and....me. I'm tired but not sleepy, sore everytime I move, and if I recline at all my throat gets more scratchy and my nose plugs up so that I have to mouth breathe (which I HATE).
I changed Charlotte's diaper a little while ago and she was wide awake, chatty, and smiling while I changed her. She stuck her right fist up in the air and held it very still, "Yes Charlotte, that's your hand. Bravo."
How did this become my life? I was in El Paso catching babies, then I came home and was enjoying the summer with my family before hitting the books again in September. October rolled around and.....I got pregnant with Abby. Life is interesting, isn't it?
The plan for tomorrow? Allergy nasal spray, chiropractor, get Julia checked out, massage therapy ( I hope ), and a nap - in that order. For the rest of tonight, I'll try to sleep semi-sitting in the recliner, next to Charlotte's swing.
Mr. Sandman, I'm ready for you now.
