the weekend

I attended a princess tea with Julia and Charlotte.  They looked adorable in their pastel fluffy dresses and had a great time.

We went out for supper with Jack's sister, BIL, nephew and great-niece.  Visit was wonderful, food was awful.

A near miss on the highway on the way home.  Damn deer.

Julia was reunited with her bike, pumped up the tires and was gone for a good part of the day with her friends.

Horseback riding at a friend's house this afternoon.  I brought apple wedges for the horses, the girls rode, Jack scratched and petted most of the dogs and cats on the farm, and Jack's dad was happy to be there to watch it all.

Fun activities this weekend were interspersed with exciting tasks like vacuuming under the couch cushions, filing household paperwork, grocery shopping, and scrubbing bath toys.

I studied PPH and cord prolapse/presentation in my borrowed ESW book while Jack watched a movie.

I went to lay down this afternoon for a few minutes to try and ward off a migraine.  Charlotte wanted to continue playing 'school' so I convinced her to read out loud to me while I 'rested'.  Eventually she put down the book, snuggled under the blankets with me and held my hand until she fell asleep.  Is there anything better than that?

Now for a few pages in my book before I call this day Done.
