Those of you with kids old enough to play with toys (ok... more like able to do arts and crafts) or those of you with nieces and/or nephews old enough need to know about this! There's a chemical coating on Aqua Dots, the new arts and craft type toy that turns into a Date Rape Drug when ingested! Don't buy this toy for the kids you know.

This is where the gift of cash or gift certificates are great. If the kid is young enough and you're already spending $50 or so on 'em, then get them some bonds.

yikes I did not know that about polly pocket! Good thing I was way past the eating my toys stage when they came out lol. I am also worried about this lead paint thing. We got our ring bearer a little car set from the movie Cars and now I'm really worried about the paint on it. I don't know if a three year old would still put things in their mouth. Plus his sister is still a baby so she could get a hold of it. Eek I hope it is ok!

There was a video on the CNN website about a 10 year old girl eating a dozen or so of the Aqua Dots...for some reason.. Fortunately, she survived.

I would suggest checking out toy recalls on different websites, I'm sure Google would be a great help to find out what other toys have been recalled and for what reasons.... It seems like a lot of Chinese products are being recalled all the time..

yea there were some fisher price stuff that were recalled too. i think those are the ones with problems with the painting, right?! i know i was a bit worried cuz my cousins both have babies and they have fisher price toys...
