Those of you with kids old enough to play with toys (ok... more like able to do arts and crafts) or those of you with nieces and/or nephews old enough need to know about this! There's a chemical coating on Aqua Dots, the new arts and craft type toy that turns into a Date Rape Drug when ingested! Don't buy this toy for the kids you know.

With all of these toy recalls I don't think I'm comfortable with buying toys anymore without investigating them thoroughly. I mean, I'm sure stuffed animals are still ok, as long as the kid doesn't find a way to get the plastic eyes off and swallow them. I think there were a couple toys made in China that contained lead in the paint/coating because China doesn't have laws against that. There was a Polly-Pocket or similar toy where there are tiny magnets that move the figures around (if you had a Polly-Pocket as a kid you know what I'm talking about) and if ingested, the magnets are so strong that they'll tear through a kid's intestines to magnetize together. There are probably more toy recalls but those are the only ones I've heard of.
I don't know if it's just me, but I'm getting more and more paranoid about everything as I get older.
