So I made up my mind and decided against the army reserve idea. I've talked to a few people about it but nothing that they said had changed my mind in any sort of way, even Sarah couldn't change my mind. But the last thing she said before she went to get her hair done made me see things differently. Her sister's sister's husband was in the army reserve but is now in the "regular" army. And a few days before their first child was born, he had to leave for duty. He wasn't there for the first few years of his first child's life. There's a possibility that I wouldn't be there if I enlisted in the army reserve and I told myself that I would never not be there for my kids when they're growing up.
