VNV gig

Yesterday's VNV gig was pretty good. I'm not much of a VNV fan, but I had a good time. So did Ronan Harris. He was obviously glad to be back in Dublin. The sound quality was uneven though; at the front of the venue it was pretty OK, but at the back it was pretty bad. I think it must be due to the back of the room being under the blacony. But

Spill the beans - what happened?! Did Ronan ask why Eddie Izzard was in the audience?

No, part-way through the set, he asked the audience if they also thought that Fitz looked like Eddie Izzard. Fitz must have beeen standing right at the front of the standing area, or maybe on the VIP balcony, somewhere where Ronan could see him, anyway.

I didn't spot Fitz, perhaps because I was standing next to the bar for most of the gig.

did he mention glow sticks in the uk?

There where several new glow thingys in the crowd in the gig on thursday that shocked them a little

No he didn't mention them and there was no glow sticks here. Dublin doesn't do glow sticks! :) Actually over 16 yrs of goth clubbing I've only ever saw them once and that was in an Industrial noise club - Idoru. I don't even know if it's a regular thing.

James - sound quality always is crap at the back in that venue. It was the same for nearly all the gigs I've been to there - HOL, WP, KMFDM, NMA and Echo and Bunnies.
Best to stand at the sides really.

Btw who is this Fitz person? Am I the only one that doesn't know him?!
