Today was the interview, and honestly I don’t know what to think. It is a real small place and the owner wants to keep it that way, however that may make for a pleasant working environment. When I called him, I had no idea that he was looking for someone, so that is one plus. Also, I’m the first interview of 3 and that also looks good. He is also going to putting in a LIM’s system, and I have been with 2 places that started using it, and that is a plus. He is looking for a food microbiologist, and although I haven’t done food, micro is micro and I know how to document. He might have felt that I was overqualified, however what worries me is that he asked several times where else I was looking and if I had checked such and such. He has an interview on Wednesday and the last one next Monday, so I told him that I would call him on Wednesday if I hadn’t heard from him. It took me about 45 mins to drive there, and it was easy to find. Tomorrow, back to the library and keep looking.
The house gets there day after tomorrow; the “rough-in” electrical inspection should be on Thursday. Hopefully they will get then get the electric pole up by Friday

The house came last night. It is like a log cabin dollhouse. Still, it is bigger than the camper and laid out better. I’m sure we will still have to keep some things in storage, but that is not too expensive.
I never thought the driver would make it up the driveway. First he tried pulling it straight up, and couldn’t make it, then he tried backing it in and also no go. Charlie went over to our neighbor’s house and with his help and his tractor, got it into place after many tries. At a certain point I just could not look anymore as it kept on looking as if it would tumble off the side of the truck and over the side of the driveway.
It was dark by the time everything was set, Charlie has to go up there today and set the screw jacks. We need to go back to the inspector regarding the pump for the septic. Because of the way it is laid out, the septic line cannot go directly on a decline, so needs a small step pump to lift it probably about 3-4 feet. There must be some sort of misunderstanding, as he is requiring a thousand gallon holding tank (I don’t even think our septic tank is that large) for the pump and asking for a lift of 60 feet. For pity’s sake, even with laundry, we would rarely need 100 gal per day! Within the next year, we plan on siphoning off the grey water for irrigation, and putting in composting toilets anyway.
